<p class="p1">Since the first edition in 1994, Laurent Garnier’s evergreen blend of house and techno - featuring both the classics he helped break and the ones he’s about to break - has soundtracked three decades of Sónar. 31 years on, he’s still a force both inside and outside of the booth. Whether co-running his new label Cod3 QR with Scan-X, co-authoring a book or even writing a film soundtrack, the Frenchman remains one of electronic music’s most tireless and humble advocates. Oh, and he’s still one of the world’s best DJs too.</p>

<p>Folamour is arguably the most influential French electronic artist around today. In recent years, Bruno Boumendil’s multiple releases have been a breath of fresh air for (French) house and disco; and with ‘Manifesto’, his sixth studio album released in mid-2023, he might have just reached the peak of his still young career. Echoing his on-stage appearances, it finds him immersing himself in a joyful dance music: the energy of house and the euphoria of disco mixed with influences from funk who has reached the peak of his still young and promising career with the release of ‘Manifesto’ his sixth studio album, in mid-2023. In it, just like in all his stage appearances, Folamour immerses himself in the vast spectrum of joyful dance music: the energy of house and the euphoria of disco blended with funk and indie influences, African rhythms and melodies. 14 tracks that offer a taste of what you’ll hear next June at Sónar 2024, when he presents his brand new A/V show.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;</p>

<p class="p1">Don’t bother locking the stable door - Eurodance sensation <strong>horsegiirL</strong> has made a dash for the mainstream. A much loved fixture on the Berlin club scene, this flag bearer for feel-good arpeggios, happy hardcore breakdowns and tales of forbidden interspecies love is set to turn the green grass of Sónar into a paddock-rave for all her VIP’s (Very Important Ponies). Neigh-sayers be dammed.</p>

<p class="p1"><strong>Gabber Eleganza </strong>started as a digital archive created by Alberto Guerrini - 'El Diablo' to his friends, but has quickly become a multidisciplinary project encompassing art, fashion, music, and culture in general. Both as Gabber Eleganza and via his <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://neversleeplife.bandcamp.com/"><span class="s1">Never Sleep</span></a> label, Guerrini has appeared at clubs and festivals all over the world, bridging the gap between the sonic and the aesthetic sides of hardcore, post-rave movements, and contemporary culture. At Sónar 2024, he’ll present ‘<strong>The Hakke Show</strong>',&nbsp; where a group of dancers (usually veterans, although a few younger members have recently joined the group) bring the archetypical hakke style to the stage, adding their energetic choreography to the rapid rhythm - usually over 180bpm - of gabber. Get ready to jump, scream, sweat and dance at Sónar next June.</p>

Gabber Eleganza presents ‘The Hakke Show’

<p class="p1">One of 2023’s breakout artists, <strong>DJ Gigola </strong>comes to Sónar 2024 riding on a high. Both solo and as part of the multifaceted <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://www.livefromearth.de/"><span class="s1">Live From Earth</span></a> collective, the Berlin native has been reconfiguring dancefloors since 2016. Using rhythm and groove as a guide, her hybrid sets take in everything from Surgeon to Madonna. She seamlessly blends high-intensity 90s cuts - trance, hardcore, techno and acid - with new school rave, club tracks, and dashes of pop music. Her experiments aren’t confined to the club either: inspired by her yoga and meditation practice, she’s released an <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://livefromearthklub.bandcamp.com/album/fluid-meditations"><span class="s1">album of guided meditations</span></a> featuring ASMR vocals, field recordings and goa-style tabla drums. At Sónar by Day, she’ll be strictly focused on the dancefloor: expect a genre-fluid workout from this rising star.</p>

But his latest album for Monkeytown reveals a new approach: full of rawness, weirdness, and rave energy. His performance at Sónar by Day, promises to be both wild and radical: a celebration of the both possibilities of modern pop music, as well as something deeper, more profound and ancestral.&nbsp;</span></span></p>

She’s joined by<strong> </strong>Manchester’s <strong>DJ Paulette</strong>, one of two female resident DJs at the legendary Hacienda during the golden era of acid house. Each has spent over three decades in the game, and their thirst for new music and discovery has never faded. <p class="p1">Born in South Sudan, raised in Australia, and now based in France, <strong>Skin On Skin</strong> has found a natural way to blend club-ready house and techno with underground and alternative hip hop, from Memphis rap to drill. A skilled producer with an ear for an irresistible vocal hook, his style harks back to house’s raw, rugged beginnings: low slung, bass-driven and punchy. He comes to Sónar 2024 with a reputation for hard-charging, bumping DJ sets, which he peppers with his own unreleased tracks and unique edits. Don’t miss this one.</p>
