We tapped one-of-a-kind one man electronic death metal artist Lord Spikeheart for SonarMix 067, and the Kenyan has recorded a truly unique session: “a seething fusion of glitching techno, rave-ready breaks and crushing death metal”. By way of appetiser for his physical live set at Sónar by Day, he’s assembled 61 minutes of aggressive, punishing and extreme sonics - from abrasive grindcore and industrial rap to experimental electronics - that falls halfway between the club and the moshpit. Or as he puts it “a hallucinogenic descent into chaos…with visions of sweat, static and the echoes of shattered dancefloors.” Quite.
