Film-maker Rebecca Salvadori collaborates with musicians Saint Abdullah and Eomac to explore identity, displacement and the political nature of borders in

A multidisciplinary, trans-national collaboration, A Forbidden Distance’ unites Iranian-Canadian musicians (and brothers) Saint Abdullah and their longtime collaborator, Irish producer and sound designer Eomac, with Italian-Australian film-maker Rebecca Salvadori, for an exploration of migration and displacement that's both personal and political.

After performances at Unsound, Berlin Atonal and Semibreve, Sónar 2025 will host a special screening of the film they've created together, with Rebecca's distinctive scripting and direction - part video art, part documentary - soundtracked by music created especially for the film by Saint Abdullah and Eomac.

‘A Forbidden Distance’ is part of ‘The Crossing’, the first artistic creation of the TIMES project, commissioned by Sónar, Berlin AtonalSemibreve, and Unsound.
