Perfect for…

Trendspotters, style icons, fashion victims, culture vultures…

Why’s it interesting?

Today's pop aesthetics are no longer two-dimensional, friendly, soft and shaded in primary colours. Instead they’re 3-D, acidic, corrosive, viscous, fluorescent and monstrous. MAT(H) RASH is the name that Spanish internet cultural analyst Julieta Wiebel and creative technologist Mike Hernández have given to this new artistic aesthetic, which mixes goth culture, internet memes and fluorescent colours with references to fantasy and science fiction. Joining Julieta and Mike are artists Samantha Hudson and YESSi PERSE for a conversation that covers the ins and outs of MAT(H)RASH, which, as it happens, was inspired by Julieta’s annual visits to Sónar.

Please note that this discussion will be held in Spanish.
