The future of music has a consent problem

How can we ensure AI supports, rather than exploits, music creators? The Association For Electronic Music (AFEM) presents its AI Principles: a new industry framework designed to protect creative work and build a fair, future-facing music ecosystem.

Centred around four core actionsTransparent Licensing, Artist Consent, Credit, and Fair Compensationthese principles offer legal and ethical clarity for the use of generative AI in music.

In this session, Kurosh Nasseri (AFEM Co-Founder and Co-Chair) and Jay Ahern (AFEM Chief Growth Officer) will share insights into the development of the framework and open a collective conversation on how to build creator-safe AI tools that elevate the role of artists and rightsholders.

AFEM sees AI not as a threat, but as a powerful toolwhen developed with consent, care, and fairness at its core.
