Just when we thought we had her figured out, Fukcnormal throws us a curveball on SonarMix 080. The Madrid-based artist has made a name for herself with intense, high-tempo sets that teeter on the edge of chaos, but here she dials it all back on a slowed down hypnotic session filled with dubby grooves, latin-leaning tribal cuts and classic house and techno. Sensuality has always been an - overlooked - part of her sets; here, with the tempo dialled down, it’s the defining feature. Sinuous, sweaty, and seductive, by the time she reaches 129bpm - with the LSD remix of Jaydee’s classic proto-techno track Plastic Dreams - you’ll feel ready for three more hours. Unfortunately, she’s only got an hour on Thursday at Sónar 2026: expect her to make the most of it.
