House music’s youngest legends come to Sónar
It feels strange to describe The Martinez Brothers as house music legends. It seems like only yesterday when the brothers from The Bronx were upstart DJs of 16 and 18, too young to even get into the clubs they were being booked to play. Raised on a diet of salsa, latin jazz, soul, and disco by their father (they were musicians before they were DJs), they’re now legitimately one of the biggest names in house music. Residents since 2011 at Ibiza’s DC10, co-owners of Tuskegee records with Seth Troxler, collaborations with Louie Vega, Nile Rodgers, and Tokischa … the list goes on. In 2024, they return to Sónar for the first time since 2016: their blend of latin-tinted New York house and bumping tech house is sure to go down a treat.
