The Catalan experimental vocal duo question tragedy, mystery, fate and the unknown with a new show based on their brand-new album

Tarta Relena was born in 2016 from the hand of two singers (Marta Torrella and Helena Ros) who explore different styles of acappella vocal music, with the geographical area of the Mediterranean as a context of reference. The repertoire they sing explores their rich vocal traditions, singing in languages such as classical Greek, Italian, Latin, Catalan and even Ladino. Their music mixes sacred and secular influences, drawing inspiration from flamenco, lyrical song, traditional music and electronic experimentation.

Three years after their first appearance at Sónar, they return with a new show to present És Pregunta, their brand new album. Flirting with notions of tragic thought, their new work is a conceptual mix of what fate has in store for us.

Has been jointly produced by Sónar and the Fira Mediterrània de Manresa, with support from the Catalan Department of Culture.
