Before finding fame as Perel, Annegret Fiedler started out as a punk singer, discovering club culture, house and techno when she moved to Berlin as a young adult. You can still hear the echoes of moody, spiky post-punk in the music she makes today, inspired by her teenage obsession with Aphex Twin, Kraftwerk and The Cure. Sitting somewhere between italo disco, acid and new wave, her hybrid sets - where she sings and DJs at the same time - are equal parts cosmic and romantic.
