Raw, savage Chicago house and techno from a true Midwest rave original

A Midwest rave original, Hiroko Yamamura is one of key figures in the second wave of Chicago house and techno artists of the late 90s and early 2000s. Listing legendary club The Warehouse, technology and ‘straight up techno’ as her three main influences, her no-holds-barred productions and sets are maybe even more thrilling today than they were back then. Inspired by science fiction, graphic novels, goth and industrial culture, she DJs with a savage, raw edge: think of the energy of a DIY punk show in an abandoned building, and you’re halfway there. We’re thrilled to have one of dance music’s most underrated and thrilling artists at Sónar by Night this year.
