There aren’t many dance music fans who could point to where Ayr is, but Ewan McVicar is helping put his humble hometown on the map. The proud Scot has gone from running a club night - TEN - to organising a full-blown festival in the heart of Scotland. It speaks to his  status as a down-to-earth superstar DJ - much like his mentors and now-frequent collaborators Optimo and Special Request - that even as he criss-crosses the globe, he’s stayed true to his roots in Ayr. As a selector he’s equally grounded, a perfect combination of mainstage and underground, a man who knows what deep cut to reach for to get a room jumping, and how to work a crowd from start to finish. We’re blessed to have him at Sónar by Day this year.
