The anonymous duo explore ‘technological gentrification’ with breakbeats, IDM and abstract electronics
Datashader’s live sets explore what they term ‘technological gentrification’, the gradual decline of human interaction provoked by technology. Their music confronts this dystopian reality, highlighting the alarming consequence of people becoming mere nodes in a network, reduced to a collection of data points. Breakbeats, recontextualised IDM, abstract electronica and otherworldly synthesiser landscapes are the tools they use to create a stream of abstract, dense and generative sound. Live, they construct their sets in real-time using unpredictable algorithms, mutating digital textures and rhythmic structures that defy conventional logic.
