Since her first tracks in 2021, rising local artist Bikôkô has always laid bare her African roots and influences: you could already hear the influence of Tanzanian chants and West African rhythms in her smooth blend of r&b and neo-soul. Just three years later, and after a move to London, the Barcelona-raised artist debuts at Sónar proper (after an appearance at SónarCCCB in 2021) with a new live show. Expect tracks that follow the evolved sound she showcases on her latest EP Destiny, which mixes West African percussion with electronic production and her sultry vocals.
