A young Spanish artist makes her debut with a unique blend of modern musical mysticism
On her debut album Neu Om, Spanish musician Amanda Mur puts her classical training to good use, exploring Spanish folklore, medieval music and avant-garde textures. Centred around her own voice and piano playing, she explores ancient mysticism and ritualistic practices through a modernist lens. Who else would mix sanskrit sexual rituals with the works of visionary polymath Hildegaard Von Bingen? Where else would Gregorian chanting cross paths with flashes of cumbia? Come and witness the first steps of a truly unique artist this year at Sónar by Day.
