Sónar returns to Tokyo in 2026, as part of NU Festival

Taking place on 26th, 27th and 28th June, NU Festival brings future-facing art and technology to Takanawa Gateway City, Japan’s largest and most dynamic new urban development. As part of the inauguration of this brand-new district, which seamlessly combines a train station with residential, cultural and commercial spaces, Sónar has collaborated on two parts of the multidisciplinary programme.

NU Live x Sónar Sound

Sónar Sound returns to Tokyo with a specially prepared programme of live performances and DJ sets in collaboration with NU Live. The full lineup is now available at the NU Festival website, and includes Actress & Suzanne Ciani, Daito Manabe, DJ Krush, Minna-no-Kimochi, William Basinski, and more.

NU Art x Sónar+D

NU Art in collaboration with Sónar+D takes place at MoN Takanawa: Museum of Narratives, Tokyo’s newest museum. Opened in March 2026, this world-leading museum dedicated to digital art and culture will host a full programme of cutting-edge art and technology from Japan, Europe, and around the world. More details will be announced very soon.
