Since meeting in 2017, Mina & Bryte have been club music’s most infectious tag team. What started with a chance encounter in Ghanaian producer Gafacci’s studio in Accra has turned into a full-blown friendship and collaborative project.
Their creative partnership is just one of the many conversations UK club music has been holding with different African artists and styles since the mid-2010s. The melodic sensibility of UK funky and afro house, the alien sound design of grime and gqom, the bass pressure of dubstep and dancehall… all currents that London-based producer Mina has been exploring solo and via her own Earth Kicks imprint.
But when she teams up with Bryte, things get kicked up a gear. The MC and vocalist’s expressive, multi-lingual style adds a new dimension to her melodic, bass-heavy productions. If you can feel the extra energy he brings on record, just wait until you see them together on stage. At Sónar 2026, ready for a high-energy hybrid show that’s won over crowds from Glastonbury to Nyege Nyege.
