Well-being at Sónar We want everyone at Sónar to have a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive experience—free from harassment and discrimination. Help us make Sónar a festival for everyone.

At Sónar, we are firmly committed to ensuring that all festival attendees have the best possible experience, and we work year on year to improve this. This commitment extends to our staff, suppliers, partners, artists, and participants.

Since 2012, Sónar has held the Q de Festa! quality seal awarded by the Public Health Agency of the Government of Catalonia, which is part of Party+ (The European Network for Safer Party Labels).

To promote well-being, we provide trained staff, access to free drinking water fountains, public transport options, non-alcoholic drinks, food, earplugs, information on substance use, condoms, breathalysers, and a protocol for responding to sexual assault.

At Sónar, we encourage you to keep the following in mind:

  • Protect your skin during the day with sunscreen, wear sunglasses, and use earplugs;
  • Stay hydrated: there are multiple free drinking water fountains around the site;
  • Take breaks;
  • Make sure you eat, we have a variety of sweet and savory options available;
  • Agree on a meeting point with your friends in case you get separated;
  • Enjoy yourselves, but respect other people’s boundaries. If you experience or witness any form of sexual harassment, head to the Punt Lila;
  • If something doesn’t feel right, ask the staff for help;
  • Some substances are stronger than others - inform yourself at the Energy Control point at Sónar by Night;
  • If you use substances or drink alcohol, don’t drive, use public transport;
  • Think for yourself and look out for your people.

Punt Lila and the ‘No Callem’ protocol

At Sónar, we’re committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for everyone. We adhere to the ‘No Callem’ protocol created by the Barcelona City Council to address sexual and LGTBIphobic assaults in nightlife spaces.

If someone violates your sexual freedom by forcing you to perform, witness, or endure acts that feel hostile or degrading, you have the right to report it. You can check the 11 points of the protocol here.

If you experience or witness any type of sexual or LGBTIphobic assault or inappropriate behavior - whether physical or verbal - please head to the Punt Lila at Sónar by Day or Sónar by Night. Trained staff will be on hand to support anyone who needs it.

We ask all festivalgoers to act respectfully and responsibly toward others—both other members of the audience and our staff—to ensure that Sónar is a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

‘Not at My Festival’ Campaign

We also support the ‘En mi festi, no’ campaign, led by FMA (Music Festivals Association) in collaboration with MIM (Women in the Music Industry), which aims for a fairer, more equal, and violence-free music festival industry.

Energy Control

Safety is a priority at Sónar. Energy Control will once again have a stand Sónar by Night, where they’ll provide advice on substance use and harm reduction.

Red Cross

The Red Cross will be onsite to assist anyone experiencing discomfort or in need of medical attention.
