The aim of Barcelona Music Tech Hub (BMTH) is to create a sustainable ecosystem for world-class creative industries through knowledge, connection and collaboration. They act as an accelerator for innovation in the ecosystem of music technology, whilst also tackling the global challenges that affect the sector. 

The music technology sector is mainly composed of micro-enterprises and small entities, which in combination with the dichotomy between intrinsically-motivated cultural activities and business activities in the music sector, means that many organisations struggle to access capital. Access to funding remains one of the main challenges for actors within the music tech ecosystem, inhibiting their growth and development.
