Main Costa pulls no punches. The Alicante-born rapper and songwriter’s version of trap is explicit and empowered, sarcastic and self-aware. 

The follow-up to her debut record Ugly Fvck Better, forthcoming album Ugly Trap Better looks back to the golden age of American trap (she specifically references 2017). Taking the  murky, raw style of production that characterised Atlanta trap around that period, she imposes her own modern, feminine perspective. Enlisting veterans Yung Beef and La Zowi, as well as contemporaries Tk Mami and Metrika, it’s a bridge between the ‘old’ and the ‘new’ worlds of Spanish trap.

She’s preparing a totally new show alongside the record, which she’ll debut at Sónar 2026. Don’t miss it
