Based in Barcelona for over two decades, Niall Doorley is best known as the founder of Future Music Forum, a boutique event with carefully-curated lineups that brought together independent thinkers from the domains of music and technology between 2010 and 2024 (he’s currently plotting the return of the conference for 2027). 

At Sónar+D 2026 he’ll tackle the thorny subject of the proliferation of the word Community (yes, we’re aware of the irony - never say we’re not open to a little criticism and healthy debate) in the music industry. In his presentation, expect him to draw heavily on his current experience as Head of Business Development at MIDiA Research, where he provides data-driven insights and strategy to companies across the sector.
