More than just hard and fast, dance music’s next superstar adds orchestral, emotional touches to his intense sets

As the Guinness slogan says: worth the wait. It took the Irish producer and DJ KETTAMA almost 10 years to put together his debut album Archangel, which came out this autumn.

The culmination of a journey that started when the then-unknown artist handed a USB full of tracks to Mall Grab, he’s gone from uploading tracks on SoundCloud to releasing on the same label as the Australian artist, Steel City Discs. Packed full of the big chords and vocal hooks he’s become known for, it’s hard, groove-laden dance music, influenced by everything from classic trance and 90s hard house to bassline and speed garage.

His debut at Sónar in Barcelona (he played at Istanbul last year) couldn’t come at a better time, as he’s expanding his horizons. Known for his intense style, in recent months he’s been switching things up, adding different tempos and moods to his

high-velocity sets. This is your chance to catch him before he becomes a true global superstar.
