Headquartered at IE University in Segovia, The Cyber-Physical Life (CyPhy Life) Research Group composes scientists, engineers and designers, with a programme of interdisciplinary research that takes in artificial intelligence, robotics, and human-computer interaction.
Developed by the group, DJESTHESIA is a perfect example of their ethos, a project that mixes sound, visuals and gestures. By adding motion capture technology and visual projection to a standard DJ setup, the group has expanded the possibilities for performers, allowing DJs to shape music and visuals in real-time using physical gestures.
The project will appear at Sónar+D with a hybrid presentation and demo by the group’s leader, robotics research, Prof. Eduardo Castello, and Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence student Saeka Ono.
