‘Continua’ is Jason Chung’s defining statement, a collection of elegant and emotionally direct songs featuring vocals from the likes of Toro Y Moi, Julianna Barwick, and serpentwithfeet. It’s a long way from his first appearances at Los Angeles’ DIY punk venue The Smell, before Nosaj Thing found a home on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label at the height of the city’s 2010s ‘beats’ scene (he was also a regular DJ and performer at famed LA club night Low End Theory until it closed in 2018). At Sónar 2023, he’ll bring these delicate compositions to life for a special AV show with his long-time visual collaborator, Japanese digital creator (and fellow Sónar+D artist) Daito Manabe.
