Manchester’s Anz captures the technicolour nature of UK dance music in 2023 like few others. As a producer, she’s just as likely to release her own brand of squishy g-funk or drop ruffneck rave throwbacks on Hessle Audio as she is to write an EP of heartfelt house for Ninja Tune. In the booth, she might be even more unpredictable, mixing her beloved breakbeats and acid-flecked electro with UKG, 90s classics and forward-thinking club tracks.
