What is Sónar+D?

Sónar+D is the international meeting of art, science, and digital culture hosted by Sónar during the festival, exploring how creativity changes the present and imagines new futures. Since 2013, this anti-disciplinary event has brought together leading artists, technologists, creatives, musicians, designers, thinkers, scientists, entrepreneurs, makers and hackers in Barcelona for a carefully curated programme of talks, masterclasses and groundbreaking performances, with a focus on inspiration and networking.

For thousands of professionals and curious individuals from over 100 countries, Sónar+D offers a unique, open and relaxed environment to meet. Across three fruitful days, they come to discover groundbreaking new work and opportunities, learn new skills and showcase initiatives via talks, demos and workshops, performances, live concerts, exhibitions, immersive and interactive experiences and encounters with different communities.

Sónar+D 2023

The programme of talks, debates, and masterclasses at Sónar+D 2023 will cover four main themes:

  • the connections between art and science;
  • the climate emergency and how creators are responding to it;
  • the development of new forms of creativity;
  • Artificial Intelligence and the Web3 paradigm

This year, for the first time, Sónar+D will open its doors at 10am on both Thursday and Friday, five hours before Sónar by Day opens to the general public. During these hours, there’ll be exclusive activities for delegate pass holders, designed to put emerging talent in contact with key companies within the creative digital ecosystem.

Sónar+D 2023 will also host a series of audiovisual shows at Complex+D and Stage+D, as part of the musical program of Sónar by Day. There’s also a new Project Area where creators, companies, startups and institutions will exhibit their work - either completed or still under development.
