Sónar, in collaboration with Barcelona’s Taller de Musics and Acción Cultural Española, are launching a new mentorship program focused on electronic music, led by the producer, DJ and label owner Cora Novoa.
An established presence in Barcelona’s dance music community, and with releases on Hivern Disc, Turbo Recordings and her own Seeking the Velvet label, over the course of a month, Cora Novoa will work hand to hand with three composers and musicians enrolled at the prestigious music school, defining processes and creating work spanning electronica, acoustic instrumentation and computer aided composition techniques. The end result of this collaboration will then be presented live in Barcelona and other cities later this year.
Following an audition process by Cora Novoa in March, the artists chosen for the project are Alba Morena, Tomás Pujol and Enric Martinez, who will be aided and supervised by the school’s director of composition Pablo Carrascosa.
Forming part of the expanded program for 2021, the results and process of the collaboration will be shared on our social channels throughout.
