Sergi Botella, a veteran of the Catalan scene, will be in charge of opening Sónar's 30th anniversary. Sergi is working on his own biography, musically as well as textually speaking. Sigourney Discs, the label he co-founded, releases remixes and EPs that explore his lifelong influences, ranging from electro to IDM, ambient, and italo. Recently, an older version of Sergi Botella has begun to experiment with computer music, UK bass and, of course, techno. For Sónar 2023, expect an esoteric, friendly and introspective session to whet appetites at the remodelled SonarVillage by Estrella Damm.
