Parkineos was born out of Spanish hardcore (
Mákina) from the 1990s (just listen to
‘Me Pican Las Venas’ his first single) but the project has continued to evolve, as seen on his recent EP Bitter Glitter, in which hyperpop, indie rock, and sadcore meet happy hardcore. An amalgam of sounds from across rave culture that’s pure delirium for the younger generations of rave culture in Spain. He’s also collaborated with a host of Spanish rap talent, from previous Sónar performers Rojuu and Rakky Ripper through to fellow Sónar 2023 artist Sticky M.A, and Brokesus. So his appearance at Sónar by Night this year might be the start of something big. For the duration of his set, he’ll turn SonarCar by TOUS into a rave in a parking lot.
