Norwegian artist Jana Winderen has made a career out of listening to the things that we can’t hear. She captures sounds from places that are difficult to access, or at frequencies inaudible to the human ear. Renowned for her site specific installations and performances, she also releases recordings on famed field recording and ambient label Touch - highlights include surprisingly noisy recordings of shrimp, the sound of cracking, melting ice floes and a symphony of underwater river insects in her native Norway. At Sónar+D, she’ll deliver a short talk explaining her work, accompanied by a concert where she’ll play some of her archival recordings.
