Fluid pop and R&B from an irresistible voice

For Crystal Murray, pop is a fluid concept. The 21-year old French artist’s repertoire takes in everything from bluesy-R&B (‘Hot Mess’) to low-slung trap (‘Creeps’) and sugar-sweet dance music (‘Too Much To Taste’). A precocious talent (as part of teenage collective ‘Gucci Gang’, she was DJing and performing in Parisian clubs at just 14) and tireless advocate for black female artistry in the music industry, she’s bringing a full live band to Sónar this year. Of course, it’s her irresistible voice - part Erykah Badu, part Betty Davis - that’ll take centre stage.
