When contemporary pianist and composer Carles Viarnès and visualist Alba G. Corral join forces, magic happens. Sónar has already, fortunately, witnessed this. Their show for our 30th Anniversary will be another step in their long-standing collaboration, as they present a live rendition of Hyper_O, Viarnès’ new album. Based on Gregorian melodies and modes, it’s written and performed with a hyperorgan, continuing a theme from last year’s installation at Sónar 2022. Together with visual artist Alba G. Corral, the Catalan virtuoso will deliver a neoclassical performance in one of Sónar 2023’s most iconic venues.
