Saxophone without limits
When imagining how a saxophonist might play electronic music, it’s logical to think of loops, overdubs or any number of effects. Bendik Giske, however, lets his circular breathing technique, microphones and the natural resonance of the physical space do the work. The Norwegian comes to Sónar with his second album Cracks, a new step in his career that looks towards Brian Eno’s idea of constantly evolving “generative music”. His concert will show that Bendik and his saxophone are closer than a human being and an instrument have ever been.
