First batch of artists announced for Sónar Lisboa 2022
Next year Sónar Lisboa takes place for the first time on the 8th, 9th & 10th April 2022.
Across three days, the Portuguese capital will overflow with artists, creators and innovators, as a mix of local talent and world-renowned names take to the stage.
The first announcement covers 18 acts from the musical programme: The Blaze dj set, Charlotte De Witte, DJ Nigga Fox, Ellen Allien b2b Dr. Rubenstein, Enchufada Na Zona, Eu.Clides, FJAAK Live, Floating Points, Héctor Oaks, Iamddb, Jayda G, Kampire, Nicola Cruz, Nídia, Polo & Pan, Pongo, DJ Stingray 313 and Thundercat.
In keeping with Sónar’s commitment to forward-thinking, diverse programming, the first announcement draws from locations across the globe and Portugal’s own vital scene.
International heavy-hitters like Charlotte De Witte, Floating Points, Jayda G and Polo & Pan rub shoulders with hometown heroes DJ Nigga Fox and Nídia, whose rugged, percussive sounds have put Lisbon and Portugal on the map again.
French duo The Blaze’s DJ set will be heavy on slick, cinematic romanticism, while two generations of Berlin techno meet behind the decks with Ellen Allien going back-to-back with Dr Rubenstein.
Uganda and Nyege Nyege’s Kampire will get pulses racing with her high-speed dancefloor psychedelia, only for Ecuadorian Nicola Cruz to calm mind and body with his spiritual live set inspired by traditional South American cultures.
More artists will be announced in the coming months, as well as a full programme of discussions, workshops and exhibitions.
