As has often been the case in recent history, the creative industries are at the forefront of the next evolution of the web. Web3 technology and blockchains have become common currency in part because of the rise of NFTs that seek to make use of the technology. As such, the art world provides us with an interesting case study to dissect the pros and cons of web3 technology. Stefania Artusi of cryptocurrency and artistic blockchain Tezos will be joined by Fernando Cucchietti from Barcelona Computing Center, Merel van Helsdingen, founder and director of NXT Museum, and visual artist Harriet Davey. Together they’ll tackle this thorny subject and bring to bear their unique and diverse professional experiences.
