A restless member of the Barcelona underground, both solo and as half of the duo Shakti Alliance with Troya Modet. Virginie, also known as Vir, is one of the city’s most flexible and talented DJs, drawing on her vast record collection - she’s been an avid record buyer since the 1990s, when she moved from Caracas to New York. The Venezuelan-born DJ is one of the most exploratory diggers in Barcelona, mixing up deep, pumping house with dusty soul, disco and music from around the world. Rather than pursuing perfection with her mixes, she prefers to improvise, taking risks and indulging her playful sense of eclecticism. At Sónar 2022, she’ll let her records shine, under the sun and on the dancefloor.
