Pop hooks mixed with experimental electronica

A commitment to deconstructing stereotypes, eschewing lazy classification and helping to push culture forward is just part of what makes Sega Bodega’s work so exciting. As co-founder of the Nuxxe collective (along with cohort Shygirl), he has in a large part helped to shape the sound of what is now called ‘deconstructed club music’, providing a platform for misfits and experimentalists from around the world. At the same time, his outstanding production skills, evidenced on the confessional and code-breaking ‘Salvador’ as well as in his soundtrack and instrumental tracks, have pushed against the limits of genre, bringing pop hooks to bear on experimental electronica (and vice versa). Following his intimate video performance for Sónar CCCB 2020, a live performance at Sónar was long overdue, and is one of the most eagerly anticipated on this year’s lineup.
