'The Road to Obsolescence'
Mario Klingemann is an artist who makes use of algorithms and artificial intelligence in his work, which is rooted in the creation and investigation of systems and processes. He focuses on the human perception of art and creativity and how it can be augmented or emulated by machines: a fertile area of research which covers generative art, cybernetic aesthetics, feedback loops, neural networks, pattern recognition and much more.
Since 2020 he has been active in Web3 communities, developed blockchain-based art and stewarding the ecologically responsible and self-governed NFT community Hic et Nunc. He’s also created ‘Botto’ [link] an autonomous decentralized AI artist which will be exhibited at SonarMàtica by Tezos this year.
At Sónar+D he’ll discuss his journey into AI art, expeditions into latent spaces and his lifelong objective: replacing himself with artificial intelligence, thus making himself redundant as an artist.
