As multi-disciplinary artist COUCOU CHLOE, Nice-born, London-based Erika Jane toys with the perceptions and possibilities of club music. Founder of the NUXXE collective, alongside Shygirl and Sega Bodega (who she’ll share a bill with at Sónar 2022), her music is dense and treacle thick, yet irresistibly catchy. When she talks about her influences - from Hungarian avant-garde composer György Ligeti through Snoop Dogg and alt-rock weirdos Ween - she mentions their concepts, rather than their sound. So it’s not surprising that her own speaker-rattling work includes samples of dogs and peacocks alongside thumping sub-bass and that seductive vocal delivery.
