Under the cover of his label Timedance, the producer and DJ Batu has quietly changed the sound of electronic music. Listen back to any DJ set of note of the last 5 years, and you’re likely to find at least one reference from the Bristol label. From Metrist to Ploy, to the almighty Bruce, Timedance releases all share a meticulous approach to sound design coupled with an irreverent love of off kilter percussions and polyrhythms. It stands to reason then  that a set by Batu himself would serve as the maximum expression of this playful contemporary approach to minimalism, that in 2022, has its sights set not only on the West Country, but the world at large.
