Food Experience

Once again in 2019, the Sónar by Day VIP area will feature a unique gastronomic proposal. This year the produce of three local artisan farmers and fishermen will be interpreted by three celebrated chefs (each with a Michelin star). On consecutive days, the chefs will each present two exclusive menus of seasonal and organic cuisine as well as a vegetarian option.

First the produce and producers: Fresh rock octopus from Cap de Creus, fished using traditional "lobster pots" by the father and daughter team of Salvador and Elena Manera from Port de La Selva ; autochthonous pork hand reared using traditional methods by Jordi Rovira from La Rovira de Sagàs, and the delicious lettuces grown by Ramon Bosch in his picturesque allotment surrounded by pear trees in the Boscana de Bellvis forest.   

Each of these products will be interpreted by celebrated chefs from the area, and incorporated into their menus of seasonal and sustainable produce, created exclusively for Sónar. The chefs are: Joel Castanyé of La Boscana de Bellvís; Oriol Rovira of Els Casals de Sagàs and Quim Casellas from Casamar de Llafranc. These three chefs have honed their cuisine far from the noise and trends of the city, in the process garnering each of their restaurants a Michelin star.   

One chef will take over the kitchen of the VIP area for a day, creating a three course menu for 30€ as well as a 'fast menu' featuring a gourmet sandwich and drink for 15€. There will also be a vegetarian option of both menus on all three days.

Once again, Sónar offers a modern and diverse gastronomic offering in the form of food trucks for every taste and sensitivity. 

This year's food trucks include food from every corner of the world, vegan and vegetarian options, organic and locally sourced produce, as well as products for those with sensitivities and intolerances.
