With one foot in London and the other in LA, the duo formed by Oliver Lee and James Carter is transatlantic bass at its finest. Joining the best of both worlds - warehouse party drum claps and the sunny, infectious melodies of the west coast - Snakehips have emerged as one of the top producers of international R&B. Mixing tradition with modernity, and having drunk deeply from a pool of influences that runs from Aaliyah to SWV, their tunes reside somewhere between a club in 2018, the back seat of a hummer in the 90's and an oak panelled basement in the 70's.
A relentless work ethic including remixes for Bondax, Banks or The Weeknd has opened the doors for their own productions, with their recent Stay Home Tapes featuring a who's who of R&B talent from Jeremih to Jay Prince. The stage looks set for Snakehips to build on the astounding success of last year's All My Friends featuring Chance the Rapper and Tinashe. One thing is for certain, the only way is up.
