Things couldn't be better for the artist and producer Murlo. Following a sold out UK tour in 2018, the multifaceted musician arrives at Sónar 2019 with a supercharged version of his animated live AV show, featuring almost entirely new material.
Originally hailing from Manchester, the artist born Chris Pell has built a solid reputation over the last few years, thanks to a relentless DJ schedule (including tours of North America and Asia) and a hugely popular regular show on NTS. These talents transfer to the studio, with acclaimed releases on NYC's Mixpak records (whose founder, Dre Skull performed at Sónar in 2018), Glacial Sound and Rinse Recordings placing him in the top tier of electronic producers working today. Even Rihanna is a declared fan, tapping him for remix duties.
Murlo's Sónar 2019 performance will be a special version of his live AV show, which incorporates his own, Ghibli-esque animations - yet another string in an already impressive bow - in ambitious new ways.
