Sónar by Night - SonarClub
Bad Bunny, the artist born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio will make his Sónar debut in 2019, in what will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the 26th edition of the festival. On the heels of one of the most assured, and rightfully celebrated debuts in recent memory - the extraordinary X100PRE - the Puerto Rican rapper has risen to the top of the international scene, bringing a dose of Latin American warmth, humour and attitude to the charts.
This rapid ascent is due to his unmistakable baritone, self described as being inspired by Hector Lavoie, which has been a stand out feature of many of the best tracks of the last few years, from the Drake featuring M.I.A. to Cardi B’s ubiquitous “I Like It”. If his list of co-signs and collaborators is impressive, on X100PRE Bad Bunny has asserted himself as a formidable artist in his own right, and one capable of making genres from 80’s tinged electro pop to emo completely his own.
