The first new tracks from Artwork in 15 years - last years' slinky Let Go of This Acid EP - belie the influence of a man who has worked assiduously behind the scenes on the creation of South London's last great contribution to club music. As co-owner of Croydon's legendary Big Apple Records, Arthur Smith is responsible for bringing the sounds of Skream, Benga and Hatcha to the masses, thus ushering in the rise of dubstep.

If Smith has been relatively quiet in terms of recorded output, this doesn't mean that he's been still. Whether as part of the supergroup Magnetic Man, who played Sónar in 2010, or running the roaming parties that turned into the festival Art's House, Smith has never been far from the decks.
