Few scenes have been as long lasting, or as globally popular as Drum and Bass. And few names are as synonymous with Drum and Bass as Andy C. For 25 years and counting, this DJ, producer and label boss has been causing havoc on the dancefloor and raising the temperature of the rave to boiling point with his rolling baselines and second to none knowledge of breaks, jungle and d’n’b in all its permutations. Who better to bring the spirit of the rave to SonarLab by Resident Advisor on Friday night?

Since co-producing one of the genre’s classic tracks - Origin Unknown’s Valley of the Shadows - in 1992, Andrew Clarke has grown to be one of the most consistent DJ’s and producers in the UK, bringing successive generations into their first contact with the rush of a snare, machine-gun breaks and stomach liquifying bass drops. A constant presence at nights such as Warning, One Nation, Valve or Rampage, his unique style of dj-ing - cueing up up to 3 records at once so the bassline drops simultaneously - paved the way for the jump up sound that has taken over the UK party scene over the last few years. It’s an absolute honour to welcome this innovator and ambassador to Sónar 2019.
