Radio 3 has been associated with Sónar since the first edition and participates in this special edition of the 25th anniversary with an important display of media and several programmes broadcast directly from its stand at Sónar de Día, at FIRA in Barcelona, as well as with audiovisual content on Radio 3 Extra.
As usual, the station will host its reference programme Siglo21, presented by Tomás Fdo Flores, live on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 June, from 12h to 13h.
Radio 3 Extra has a special site about Sónar where you can watch a series of daily video programs telling all the news of the festival in images. Radio 3's website will broadcast live and streaming videos of the main concerts of the festival, as well as a daily news report on Sonar. The station will also record the main concerts of the festival for distribution throughout Europe through the EBU (European Broadcasting Union).
Other spaces dedicated to electronic music will also be held at the festival: El Laberinto with Henry Saiz, Lapsus, with Wooky and Lester, and En Órbita, by dj Pinky. The programmes El Gran Quilombo, with Consol Sáenz, and Mediterráneo, with Pilar Sampietro, will also be broadcast from the set of Radio 3 in Sónar.
Ràdio 4, the Catalan radio station of RNE, will broadcast live the programme Territori Clandestí, hosted by Consol Sáenz, on Thursday 14 from 20h to 21h and Friday 15 from 13h to 14h.
Catalunya Radio / iCat.cat
The broadcasters of the Corporació Catalana dels Mitjans Audiovisuals will carry out several programmes from their stand at Sónar de Día.
On Thursday 14th they will broadcast PopAp live from 1pm to 2pm with Mariola Dinarés and the iCat Independents programme, hosted by Josep Martín, from 7pm to 8pm, in addition to recording the programme Revolució 4.0 from 4pm to 6pm, with Xantal Llavina. On Friday the 15th, Independents will be broadcasting live again from 7pm to 8pm and the children's space iCatKids, hosted by Pau Guillamet, Guillamino, will be recorded from 1pm to 3pm. And on Saturday the 16th there will be two other spaces broadcasting live from Sónar de Día: Generació Digital, from 17h to 19h and Pista de Fusta, from iCat, with Miqui Puig, from 20h to 22h.
In addition, of course, they will connect live with the Catalunya Ràdio and Catalunya Informació news programmes, as well as connections with the star programmes of Catalunya Ràdio, El Matí de Catalunya Ràdio and Estat de Gràcia.
Sónar, in collaboration with the French national television platform Culturebox, will broadcast more than 40 live performances from Sónar 2018, including those of Gorillaz, Bonobo, Diplo, Charlotte de Witte and Benjamin Damage, and will offer selected Video On Demand after the festival. The live stream will be available worldwide through the Culturebox website, the Sonar website, several of the festival's main media partners and European national media partners of the EBU.
Culturebox is a streaming platform dedicated to culture and the performing arts that broadcasts more than 670 concerts and shows throughout the year, live and on demand for free for several months after its broadcast.
Red Bull Radio in SonarDôme
Red Bull radio station will broadcast live all of SonarDôme's performances during the three days of the festival (Thursday 14, Friday 15 and Saturday 16 June), as well as a special programme hosted by the American broadcaster Vivian Host, which will include interviews with the artists between performance and performance.
As a preview, Red Bull Radio will kick off on Saturday, June 9th with a special 10-hour marathon that will bring back the most stellar moments in the history of SonarDôme. In addition, they will share on their platform the recordings of SonarDôme's performances and also of concerts and sets by other artists from the festival, such as Young Marco, Charlotte de Witte or Kokokoko!
In 2018 Resident Advisor returns to Sónar by Night and will broadcast 6 performances of the showcase that it presents at SonarLab on Saturday 16th: JASSS, Lanark Artefax, Errorsmith, Octo Octa, Ben Klock & DJ Nobu and Motor City Drum Ensemble & Jeremy Underground.

Radio Nova, one of the main French cultural radio stations, is preparing three special programmes by Sónar, hosted by Sophie Marchand and Jean Morel: the first will be on Thursday the 14th, from 7.30pm to 9pm, in duplex format with the Nova Club in Paris; the second will be on Friday the 15th, from 7.30pm to 9pm, in the same location.
RAI / Radio 2
The Italian national radio station arrives at Sónar Barcelona for seven consecutive years, to broadcast the Radio2 In The Mix space from Sónar by Night, with Lele Sacchi at the helm. There will be two one-hour programs every day, from 12am to 1am, on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th.
