This year, Sónar+D will introduce new spaces and formats, organically integrated as part of the content of Sónar by Day. The new Sónar +D will take over the entirety over the Palau de Congressos de Barcelona, presenting innovative formats and tracing a line through new spaces offering interaction, discovery and physical encounters between the public, artists, scientists and creative professionals.

There will be three main themes to the programme. Firstly, there will be a wide look at Web3, ranging from digital economies and decentralisation to crypto-art, creative markets and new ways of organising the internet. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the second theme, exploring the implications of these new technologies for art and society. Finally, the programme will host a wide-ranging debate on Acoustic Ecology, exploring the role of sound in the relationships between Earth, nature and humanity and how it shapes research and development. 

Another new addition is the SonarÁgora debate area - where masterclasses and unconferences will be offered - as well as a new +D stage designed to host hybrid performances which are both conference and concert, with a strong focus on audiovisual elements.

Finally, this year the SonarComplex auditorium will be the stage at Sónar by Day for the most daring and sophisticated musical and audiovisual proposals, shows with a high technological and scenographic component, oriented towards audiovisual experimentation. 

Among them, the recently announced 'Transient', presented by ME by Meliá, by the Italian artist Quayola, which will be premiered in Spain both as an audiovisual performance featuring two pianos (accompanied by musician Seta) and as a large-scale immersive installation. The concert-demonstration 'Uncompressed' presented by Patreon artists and youtubers Hainbach, Look Mum No Computer and Cuckoo, the vocal experiments of Tarta Relena and Lafawndah, experimental percussionist Eli Keszler, an AV collaboration by IHHH & Desilence, and Lyra Pramuk's 'Echoluminescence' are also part of the SonarComplex programme.
