DJ Harvey and John Talabot take over the controls at SonarCar

12/12/2017

For the third consecutive year, SonarCar will be the extraordinary and unique space within Sónar by Night: a giant dance floor enclosed by red curtains and equipped with a circular sound system, the perfect place to enjoy exceptional 6hr sessions. SonarCar will offer extended sets that allow for alternative musical narratives, akin to voyages through the history of dance music's different eras and sounds.

After previous festival sets from Laurent Garnier, Four Tet, Masters At Work and the Seth Troxler & Tiga duo, this year welcomes two renowned DJs to take us on an individual journey through their own musical universes: DJ Harvey and John Talabot.

The first of the two nights features the prodigious DJ Harvey, the fabled DJ whose life and artistic career has always been characterized by innovation, discovery and exquisite taste. His expansive and exploratory nature and inimitable personal expression is best experienced in long lasting sets, something he has demonstrated on numerous occasions, especially at his recent Pikes Hotel parties in Ibiza. His sets are often sub 120bpm and include hidden gems from italodisco, house, funk, synth pop and the balearic sound. With Harvey at the controls anything is possible.

Saturday night will star John Talabot. As well as being Spain's most respected and internationally recognized producer, Talabot is a DJ with an abundance of talent, a vast knowledge of the history of music and an unusually wide-ranging taste among his contemporaries. Talabot effortlessly and instinctively moves between genres, resulting in a profound sound identity: psychedelia, slow house, mutant techno, new wave, Balearic, synth pop, African rhythms and cosmic funk... An exciting 6hr journey through energetic and lesser-travelled musical pathways.
