Another exemplary techno and house duo joins the line up at Sónar by Night, closing Friday at SonarLab. Kittin and Foxman share tastes, vitality, attitude and years of experience in the world's most exigent clubs. This mano a mano session will surely give us some of the greatest moments of dance music pleasure of the festival, taking in New York house, timeless disco, techno, ballroom... Basically any dance genre that contains a heady doses of pleasure, danger and darkness.
Presenting Miss Kittin at this point seems almost unnecessary. Still, in the unlikely case there is anyone who doesn't know her, we can say that she has been at the forefront of international club music since the explosion of the scene in the mid-1990s. A long time collaborator with DJ Hell and Sven Vath, a DJ of global popularity and a thousand other things. In 2006 she launched her release "Miss Kittin Live at Sonar", whose title says it all, and this year she returns to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the festival, more or less the same length of time she's been creating joy behind the decks.
Across the Atlantic, Kim Ann Foxman has established herself as a key figure in New York's house and techno scene. Originally born in Hawaii, Foxmann can boast of a very solid career as a DJ and producer, beyond her role -also very important- as a vocalist for Hercules & Love Affair, and her forays into fashion.
