Cutting edge audio dynamics

"Dust" represents another change in direction for an artist unaccustomed to staying in the same place for long. Constantly collaborating and moulding a kind of exotically contoured avant-garde pop, Halo continues to expand her sonic universe, confirming the enormous talent demonstrated by her debut album, "Quarantine" (2012). This time around she presents her new live show, accompanied by New York drummer and percussionist Eli Keszler, with whom she will improvise distorted structures and magnetic and dynamic pieces that move between and beyond genres.

In Halo's hands, electronica is much more a means than an end, as if it were material with which to shape a sculpture or an edifice of sound. Although her albums are markedly different from each other, they are all characterized by the originality of their developments and a recognized ability to avoid categorizations. Her pieces always flow with their own identity, sometimes abruptly, sometimes more melodic, sometimes with her voice as the central component, other times without it. Her concert at SonarComplex will add further quality to the festival's program and is anticipated to be an unmissable event for those blessed with discerning ears and intrepid tastes for undiscovered sounds.
